Steve Peoples
Lead Pastor
Steve helped plant Mission Hill in 2005, served as campus pastor, and then stepped into the lead pastor role in 2023 after working for Breeze Church Management and Tithe.ly in finance and accounting. He has served as a youth pastor, Illinois Youth Alive Director, church planter, campus pastor, business administrator, and lead pastor.
Steve and his wife, Angela, have six incredible children and one cat. Many nights you will find them playing games around the table. Steve and Angela have served as foster parents and adopted two boys (included in the previous six kids). They enjoy riding their bikes or spending time on a cruise.
Steve enjoys bowling and coaching bowling. He coaches at West Ridge Lanes and is the assistant coach for the Washburn Rural HS boys and girls teams. Steve was recently inducted into the Kaw Valley USBC Hall of Fame for coaching.
Every week you will find him interacting with the community and living out his faith. He is passionate about helping people find and follow Jesus and can’t wait to hear more stories about people coming to faith.
Josh Peoples
Associate Pastor - Spiritual Formation
Josh has been a part of Mission Hill Church for over 15 years serving in all kinds of roles over the years both voluntary and pastoral. But through every new assignment, his calling has remained the same and that is to help equip the people of the church to become who God wants them to be.
Josh and his wife Hannah have been married since 2011 and are both fully dedicated to the ministry of the church. They both graduated from Southeastern University in 2013.
They are avid soccer (Sporting KC) and football fans (Chiefs/Broncos) who enjoy spending their free time watching movies, hiking in Colorado, and hanging out with their mischievous dog, Zusi.
Tanner Snavely
Associate Pastor - Children & Young Adults
Tanner is a servant of God with a heart for building foundations in the lives of His followers. He has been at Mission Hill Church since December of 2023.
Tanner is a third-generation pastor with both of his parents and all of his grandparents being career-long ministers of the gospel. Tanner began serving in his local church from the moment he could, from “helping” lead worship at kids camp at the age of 4, to serving his church at every service they had, to serving at over 30 weeks worth of summer camps by the time he was 22.
Tanner attended Northpoint Bible College and Seminary to receive a Bachelors degree with dual majors in Ministerial Leadership and Bible & Theological Studies.
Nathan Kuenzi
Youth Pastor
Nathan is passionate about Jesus and helping others find him. Nathan’s heart is to equip and encourage Topeka students to become all that God wants them to be.
Nathan completed his Bachelors degree in Church Leadership from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2021 and completed his Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2022.
Nathan and his wife Janae got married on July 31st, 2021. While Nathan and Janae do not currently have any children, they do have one cat. You can often find them playing games, enjoying a movie, or spending time with friends and family.
When he is not helping our youth grow in their walk with Jesus, Nathan is a business and computer science teacher at Shawnee Heights Middle School. Janae is a math teacher at Washburn Rural High School.
